It is the policy of Snow & Sauerteig LLP to conform and abide by the Health Insurance and Portability Act of 1996, and to also abide by PHI privacy regulations of 2003 and PHI security regulations of 2005 and ARRA of 2009 Title XII HI-TECH ACT of February 17, 2009. The following will serve as Snow & Sauerteig LLP’s manual for compliance with the above laws and regulations as it pertains to security and privacy of medical information that we may receive as a result of our representation of several medical groups. We are designated a Business Associate to the medical providers who are termed covered entities. We also have various sub-contractors who act as our Business Associates in pursuance of our collection activities. The information you provide is shared only with authorized Snow & Sauerteig LLP employees and, if required, the creditor or third party in association with the related matter. Snow & Sauerteig LLP utilizes technological and operational security to protect personally identifiable information from loss, misuse, alteration, or destruction.
Information We Collect
We collect personal information in several ways, including:
From Creditors and Clients. When an account is referred to Snow & Sauerteig LLP, the creditor or client provides information including, but not limited to, your name, address, telephone number, email address, account number, balance, and payment history
Directly From You. We collection information you provide to us directly, whether you contact us by telephone, email SMS text message, through our website, or other communication channel.
Automatically. When you visit our website, we may collect certain information automatically, including your IP address, browser type, device information, and browsing activity.
How We Use Your Information

SMS/Text Message Communication
Consent to Receive Text Messages. By providing your mobile telephone number and agreeing to receive text messages from Snow & Sauerteig LLP, you expressly consent to receive recurring automated marketing and informational text messages (including SMS and MMS) from Snow & Sauerteig LLP, its agents, representatives, affiliates, and service providers at the mobile telephone number you provide. Telephone Number. You authorize text messages to be sent to the mobile telephone number you have provided to Snow & Sauerteig LLP, the creditor, or any prior servicer of your account.
Not a Condition of Service. Your consent to receive text messages is not required as a condition of purchasing any goods, services, or entering into any agreement with Snow & Sauerteig LLP. You are not required to consent to receive text messages as a condition of resolving your account or receiving any services.
Message Frequency and Content. Message frequency varies. Messages may include account updates, payment reminders, resolution options, and other information related to your account.
Message and Data Rates. Message and data rates may apply. Please contact your wireless carrier for details regarding your text messaging plan.
Opt-Out. You may opt out of receiving text messages at any time by replying “STOP” to any text message you receive from us. Upon receipt of your opt-out request, we will cease sending text messages to your mobile number within fifteen (15) days, except that we may send a single confirmation message acknowledging your opt-out request. Carrier Disclaimer. Snow & Sauerteig LLP is not responsible for any delays in the delivery of text messages, as delivery is subject to effective transmission by your wireless carrier. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Certification. By providing your consent, you certify, represent, and warrant that: (a) you are the subscriber to the mobile telephone number provided or are authorized by the subscriber to provide consent; (b) you are at least 18 years of age; (c) you will promptly notify Snow & Sauerteig LLP if you change or relinquish your mobile telephone number; and (d) you will inform Snow & Sauerteig LLP of any shared telephone number other which you do not consent to messages being sent.
Privacy. Your mobile telephone number and the information you provide will be used in accordance with this Privacy Policy. We will not sell, rent, or share your mobile telephone number with third parties for their marketing purposes without your express consent.
Disclosure of Information
We will not sell, rent, or lease your personal information to others, and we will not make your personal information available to any unaffiliated parties, except as follows:
To agents, vendors, and/or contractors who may use it on our behalf or in connection with their relationship with us;
To the creditor or client on whose behalf we are providing services;
As required by law, court order, subpoena, or to cooperate with a law enforcement investigation;
In a matter of public safety or policy;
As needed in connection with the transfer of our business assets; or
If we believe in good faith that sharing the data is necessary to protect our rights or property.
Data Security
Snow & Sauerteig LLP takes appropriate security measures to help protect your personal information from accidental loss and from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. However, we cannot guarantee that unauthorized persons will always be unable to defeat our security measures.
Your Rights
You may contact us at any time to:
See what data we have about you, if any;
Change or correct any data we have about you;
Request deletion of data we have about you (subject to legal and contractual obligations); and/or
Opt out of future communications from us.
